For a long time now I’ve been having this conversation over and over in my head – it goes something like…..

…..Polystyrene esky, I think we need to change our relationship.   I know we’ve been together for a long time but it feels like we’ve got this unhealthy co-dependant thing going on.  It’s, it’s….it’s….well you’re just not cool, well you are, but you’re really not. And I know we try to do our best by reusing you but too often we run out and then a new pallet load of little poly eskys are delivered to the warehouse and it feels so wrong to be bringing more and more of you into the world.  Yes, yes I know you can be recycled and remanufactured into domestic building products…..but the thing is I don’t think we actually need you.

I’ve spoken about it with the guys at the warehouse and they say that other delivery services don’t use polystyrene like we do they just ask their home delivery customers to leave eskys out with ice packs inside.  And for people who don’t have an esky we can just use one of our permanent ones and charge a refundable deposit.  The new website has this deposit system see.  I know it’ll take a little while to get used to it but I wanted to tell you now so you can get your things together.  And look I bet there are plenty of broccolini farmers out there who really need someone like you.
