Dearest Schulz Customers,

This morning Schulz have advised that due to Listeria and E.coli being found in the batch of Full Cream Milk with a use by date of the 22nd of August that additional testing and review is now underway across their facility.

As a consequence, we are recommending our customers cease consuming all Schulz Dairy products (excluding yoghurt) until test results come back today or tomorrow.

The yoghurt range and quark processing lines have been tested and have returned negative results for Listeria and/or E.coli.

Schulz normal testing procedures have not identified the presence of Listeria and/or E.coli in dairy batches dated prior to 22nd August.

If you have consumed any Schulz Dairy in question, and are in one or more of the following risk categories or have flu like symptoms, it is recommended that you seek medical advice:

• anyone whose immune system has been weakened by disease or illness, for example:

– cancer
– leukaemia
– diabetes
– AIDS
– liver disease
– kidney disease (including those on dialysis)

• the elderly
• pregnant women and their unborn babies
• anyone on medication such as prednisone or cortisone as this can also suppress the immune system (including organ transplant patients)
• newborn babies

More details can be obtained from the Victorian Department of Health website.

Additionally, we are in the process of refunding all customers who have received a Schulz dairy delivery (excluding yoghurt) from Thursday (08/08) last week onwards. We will be replacing all Schulz milk orders with Demeter milk until further notice.

We endeavour to keep you updated, as quickly as possible, as more information and test results become available to us.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Schulz on (03) 5598 3803.  Of course, please also feel free to contact us directly.

Kind regards,

Chris Ennis
