Kane Busch is a lovely young man who grows a fine parsnip and a very attractive purple carrot – in fact pretty much everything Kane grows comes out great.  It’s clear Kane really cares about what he does – he’s always on the phone checking if things are okay and if they’re not he fixes them.  This week Kane and the Busch family are sending us their last truckload of beets, broccoli, caulis, fennel, parsnips, romanesco, cabbages and carrots for the winter.

This is the third year Kane has sent his beautiful produce direct to CERES and I want to say a big thanks to the Busch’s for feeding the Fair Food community.

In the next few weeks as Kane gets on his tractor and prepares his fields for spring planting we’ll be talking about the produce Fair Food and CERES Market will be needing in the year ahead and what new vegetables might be worth a go.  We’ll wish each other good luck, say goodbye and then somehow it’ll be November, the phone will ring and it’ll be Kane asking what we need for our orders next week.

Scout Films made this brilliant little doco on Kane and his lovely crops, check it out!

We told you not to hold back and you didn’t.

Thanks to the dozens of customers who sent in their Fair Food feedback last week – we’re always keen to hear your suggestions of how we can make Fair Food work better.  A big chunk of you were asking for some choice in set boxes especially when it comes to onions. We hear you and are working on how to put this logistically curly one into action – standby for updates.

Now this was by no means your only chance to tell us what you think about Fair Food. We really want to know.  So send your frank and fearless advice to info@ceresfairfood.org.au.

Order deadlines for this week as usual are – Sunday midnight for Tuesday and Wednesday deliveries, and Tuesday midnight for Thursday deliveries.

Have a great week!
