- 1 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar
- 1 cup milk, animal or plant-based – your choice!
Our recipes sometimes use buttermilk but we don’t stock it in our webstore, so here’s a substitute that offers a similar, delicious tang to the real deal! Never be faced with a buttermilk roadblock again!
Measure one tablespoon of lemon juice or white vinegar into a liquid measuring cup.
Add in a cup of milk and fill to the 1 cup measurement line.
Stir the mixture together and let sit for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes the liquid will be slightly curdled – that’s fine.
Voila, ready for cooking!
